Vase of porcelain, one of a pair with ormolou handles, painted in colours and decorated with gilding. Oviform, on a baluster stem with circular foot on a square plinth; short incurved neck and cylindrical mouth. The neck is fluted and round the mouth is a wreath of flowers on a mauve ground. The upper portion has an oblong panel containing classical groups on both sides, connected by leafy scrolls on long interlacing stems in slight relief on a granulated ground; round the middle is a wide gilt band with floral festoons suspended from rams' heads; the remaining surface of the body is decorated with symmetrical floral scrolls and a row of acanthus leaves. The stem and feet are decorated with similar floral ornament. The handles are both in the form of two intertwining snakes.
