the horse is moulded in a walking position with raised right leg, painted brown with black mane, tail, hooves and bridle; through its upper front legs is a metal pin which hooks on at each end to the lead bars attached to the front of the wagon; to each side of the horse, about stomach level, is a wire hook which attaches at the other end to the front of the wagon
wagon is two wheeled with slatted sides and a semi circular cover representing stretched cloth; painted grey with the hubs of the wheels gold; the base of the wagon is thin probably pressed mild steel rather than tin as it shows signs of rust
box and lid are poor quality brown card, stapled at the corners; both have rows of small holes probably the result of being stabbed with a pin

Said to have belonged to Jean Margaret West, born October 10, 1929.
As the box is also dated 1929, this suggests that it was bought for another child, possibly a boy, when she was born.
Historical context
The best known of the manufacturers of this type of toy was Britains Ltd, however, imported copies were available at a lower cost.
