'An exploration of Language Systems'

Poster
2000-2004 (printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The design consultancy Harriman Steel was established in 1999. The company provides art direction in a variety of media for clients such as Channel 4, Nike, Sony, Diesel and Ele Kishimoto.

This poster is printed in two colours (gunmetal grey and fluorescent orange) and is silkscreen printed on newsprint. It is part of a project that developed between 2000 and 2004 through which the design consultancy could assert it's design sensibility outside the constraints of corporate briefs. This limited edition series of posters explores the nuances of language and communication through a range of humorous and ironic imagery. The posters are each screen printed and the physical size never varies from 30 inchesx 20 inches (standard poster format sheet size). The posters reflect the tendency for contemporary designers to use new strategies for promoting and publishing their own work.
