David Lance Goines (born 1945) is an illustrator and graphic designer based in California. Goines trained as a printer and established Hieronymus Press in 1968. This poster was printed on 27 May, 1976 for Goines' client, Neil Koonerty of Bookshop Santa Cruz. The composition is inspired by the works of Surrealist artist Giorgio De Chirico (1888-1978) and draws upon De Chirico's signature juxtaposition of small objects in vast barren architectural landscapes.
