Object history
This costume and its companion for the King of Spring are good examples of textile painting. The painting on the costumes is the work of John Cowell, one of the leading textile painters working in Britain. The Queen of Spring's costume was worn by Anne Little in a later revival of the ballet, not at its premiere. Associated production: The Snow Queen. Designer: Terry Bartlett.
