This was originally part of the collection of memorabilia owned by Mahala, the stage name of Marie Girdlestone (born Marie Nelstone) in Paris 1907. She was trained by her father Arthur Nelstone, a Musical comedy eccentric dancer, to appear in his act with him, billed as Mahala and Co. She later headlined as a single act on the Continent and North Africa and toured England with Jack Payne and Billy Cotton. She introduced toe- tapping at the Palais d'Ete, Brussels, and at the Vaudeville Theatre, London. She died in 1991.

Originally part of the collection of memorabilia owned by Mahala (Marie Girdlestone). Mahala was the stage name of Marie Girdlestone (born Marie Nelstone) in Paris, 1907. She was trained by her father, Arthur Nelstone, a Musical comedy eccentric dancer, to appear in his act, featuring with him as Mahala and Co. Later she headlined as a single act on the Continent and North Africa and toured England with Jack Payne and Billy Cotton.
