Booklet cover for a Ceremony commemorating the Centenary of the death of Edmund Kean on 15th May 1933. Eddison Collection. The booklet contains cover, back cover and fice pages featuring a biographical description of Edmund Kean, a print depicting him in the role as Shylock in January 1814 and a reproduction of a playbill for Merchant of Venice in which Mr. Kean first performed in the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 26th January 1814.
Part of an album containing 23 playbills featuring Mr. Kean at various roles at Theatre Royal Drury Lane [and] Covent Garden between 1814 to 1824.
With the booklet a cutting has been glued to the same paper and page with a photogaph depicting Dame MAdge Kendal laying a wreath on the statue of Edmund Kean at Drury Lane Theatre at the correspondent celebration. With her are Lord Lurgan (left) and Sir Frank Benson.

With the booklet a cutting has been glued to the same paper and page with a photogaph depicting Dame MAdge Kendal laying a wreath on the statue of Edmund Kean at Drury Lane Theatre at the correspondent celebration. With her are Lord Lurgan (left) and Sir Frank Benson. Both objects are glued to the same paper mount.
