Object history
This cloth was claimed by the donor to have been given by the King [Thibaw r.1876-1885) to his Prime Minister, and by the latter given to a friend of the donor. Placed in the Burmese Case Room I in the Museum. 6th February, 1888.

This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project.
