Associated Production: Mother Brownrigg, The Painter's Wife of Fetter Lane, or, The Murder of Mary Clifford. Pavilion Theatre, Whitechapel, London. 1.8.1863. Performance category: drama. This play was based on a true story of the torture by the Brownrigg family of their apprentice, Mary Clifford. Mother Brownrigg was hung at Tyburn in 1767. |
