Pictorial and typographic poster advertising a production of The Serf, or, Love Levels All, by Tom Taylor at the Olympic Theatre, London, ca. 1865. The poster features a scene in which two men are fighting. One of the men has been forced to the floor, the other is leaning over him a knife clasped in his right hand. Two other figures are watching the fight, one, a woman, is standing in the foreground, the other, a man, is standing in a doorway at the rear of the room, he is holding a gun and is aiming it towards the fighting men.
