Costume designer: Cecil Beaton. Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Catherine Street, London. 1959. Performance category: musical. Anne Rogers appeared in Los Angeles as Eliza Doolittle in 'My Fair Lady' and played in the same production in Chicago, December 1958 before coming to England to take over the same part in August 1959. She played this until 1962. This production was adapted from the play 'Pygmalion' by George Bernard Shaw. It opened at Drury Lane on 30.4.1958 but Anne Rogers did not take over as Eliza Doolittle until 1959. |
