Adelphi Theatre, London. 20.4.1878. Performance category: drama. Proof' was adapted by F.C. Burnand from the original French play, 'Une Cause Celebre'. The first night of 'Proof' at the Adelphi coincided with the first performance in the provinces, at the Theatre Royal Brighton.
