The actor Carl Brisson (1893-1958) starred in this 'south seas musical' as Natane, with the Australian opera singer Lucille Benstead (1891-1983), the British stage and film actress Gabrielle Brine (1912-2005), and the British romantic lead and singer Donald Mather.

Carl Brisson, born in Denmark Carl Friderick Ejnar Pederson, made his name on the London stage as Prince Danilo in The Merry Widow at Daly's Theatre in 1923, before touring the UK in Katya the Dancer in 1924. He went on to make his name in films, also becoming a big draw on the stage. This poster is for a pre-London try-out in Bournemouth of Aloma and Nutane. It also advertises the forthcoming 'travelogue' talk entitled 'Germany Now' on 14 October 1938 by the explorer and lecturer, Lt. Colonel Victor Haddick.
