Isolar II

Poster Magazine
1978 (designed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This newsprint programme was designed by David Bowie for his 1978 world tour, Isolar II, also known as "The Low / Heroes World Tour" or "The Stage" tour. It features photographs taken in the preceding couple of years, featuring shots taken while recording Low and "Heroes" with Brian Eno, and The Idiot with Iggy Pop, as well as images from the film Just a Gigolo, with Kim Novak.

The Isolar II tour started 29 March 1978 in San Diego, travelled across North America to Germany in May, Australia in November and Japan in December. The fluorescent tube lighting of the 1976 tour was expanded to create a large cage of tube lighting, enclosing the stage and pulsating according to the speed of the song.
