Jeanne D'Arc à Rouen by Charles-Joseph Laeillard d'Avirigny was first presented at the Comédie Française on 4th May 1819. Mademoiselle Duchesnois created for the role of Jeanne D'Arc and her performance was received with great acclaim.
This design appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq, of which this example is labelled as number 476. It is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Her hands are crossed at the front and bound by chains at the wrist. She also wears a headdress with crenelated detailing and plumed white feathers. |
