Object history
Part of a pair with 748A-1869. Exhibited with its pair at the International Exhibition, Paris, 1867.

Historical significance: During the 1860s the Museum had a policy of acquiring examples of 'approved' design made well but cheaply.

Purchased by the Museum from the maker as an example of 'cheapness of manufacture'.
