An additional note in the top right hand corner states:
'Ballet de Mr Blache Père mis en Scène, A Paris, par Mr. Fréderic Blache.'
A production of Almaviva et Rosine described as a 'pantomime en 3 actes, mêlée de danses' by J.B. Blache premiered at the Theatre de la Porte Saint-Martin in Paris on 19th April 1817.
This design appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq, of which this example is labelled as number 449. It is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

| Physical description | This full length coloured engraving shows a man and a woman. The man is dressed in black clerical robes, hat and a white stock. He is towering over the tiny figure of the woman, who is dressed in a shin length crimson dress with a series of alternating green and crimson flounces at the hem over which she wears a white apron. She also wears a frilled headdress, again painted in green and crimson. The woman stands with her arms crossed over her chest, her hands held in those of the man who stands to her right. |
