Physical description | This full length coloured engraving shows a man standing holding a spear with his left hand and a shield with his right. He wears a blue hat decorated with three straight and one bent peacock feathers. A thin but long sword is suspended down his left leg from a blue and red sash arcross his chest. His costume is in the style of a cavalier. In the background children appear to being fleeing from the character, Mr Croque-Mitain or in English, Mr Bogeyman. |
