Oui, je le sens aufond de l'âme,
Je ne ferais pas son bonheur,
Et si jamais j'étais su femme...
Sous vot'bon plaisir; monseigneur"

Les Deux Jaloux was an opera in one act by Jean Baptiste Charles Vial (1771-1834). It was first performed by the Comédiens ordinaries de S.M. l'Empereur on 27th March 1813, at the Théâtre de l'Opéra Comique.

This design appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq and is labelled No. 413. It is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Physical description
This full length coloured engraving shows a woman wearing a high waisted dress with a red, front lacing bodice and a striped red and white skirt. She wears a red spotted fichu at her neck and clasps her white apron in both hands. She is also wearing a very distinctive hat with a tall crown sloping backwards into a wide, white frill.
