Mahomet II was a tragedy by Voltaire (1694-1778), written in 1736. Its debut performance was in 1741.

Physical description
This full length coloured engraving shows a man dressed in a heavy, long sleeved, green robe trimmed with fur at the centre front and wrists. This is worn over a multicoloured, striped tunic, with a yellow and white sash at the waist, into which a sheathed dagger/sword has been placed. He stands with his left arm outstretched, whilst his right rests on his hip.
