Figure of a shepherdess playing a mandoline or lute in bone china painted in enamels and gilded. She is seated on a mound from which grows clumps of 'bocage' and has a lamb at her side. She wears a short-sleeved dark blue garment over a white blouse, dark blue skirt with gold flowers and a white turban or scarf with jewelled clasp. The pierced base is modelled as rococo scrolls.
