"...Mais vous, quelque soit votre nombre, je ne vous rains pas. Venez, je vous attends. Menzicof sera trop heureux de mourir les armes à la main" (Acte III, Scene VII)

Menzicof et Fédor was an opéra-comique by Lamartelière and Champein.

This design appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq, of which this example is labelled as number 115. It was engraved by Louis Maleuvre (1785-18) and is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Physical description
This full length coloured engraving shows a snow covered forest in the midst of which stands an actor dressed in a knee length, dark brown jacket, trimmed with fur at the wrists, hem and centre front. His boots are also trimmed with fur as is his large hat. A pale purple sash is slung loosely over his shoulders and a sword hangs from his waist. His arms are hanging in front of him, his hands interlinked.
