Mr. Giraffe ou la mort de l'Ours Blanc was a Vaudeville piece written by Marc-Antoine Desaugiers, Marie-Francois Baron d'Allard and Rene-Andre Chazet. It was first published in circa 1807.

This design was created by Adrien Joly (1776-1839) and appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq, of which this example is labelled as number 70. It is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

This full length coloured engraving shows an actor dressed in a striking black and white striped jacket and knee breeches, with matching stockings and bright yellow buttons at the centre front and pocket flaps. He is shown in profile and carries a staff in his right hand whilst balancing a white wig on his right.
