Object history | Acquisition papers include drawings of the miniatures on a page headed: 'Lord Gough & some Sikh Notables [words missing] Campaign of 1846' and annotated: 'Guff Sahib Bahadur Junge The Dewan Moolraj of Mooltan Akalee Dost Mahommed of [Cabool] Rajah Tej Sing Rajah Goolab Sing These miniatures were bought of a native by Lt. Col. F. R. De Biede Bengal R.H.A. at Mooltan immediately after we had taken over the Punjab. They are painted by natives on ivory.' |
