Below the image is a section from the play:
"...toutes ces maisons entassées ont je ne saus quel air bourgeois qui me déplait....Qu'il y a loin de tout cela à mon noble chateau des Chalumeaux! neuf croisées de face, sans compter celle du colombier... (Acte 1, Scene V)"
This design was created by Adrien Joly (1776-1839) and appears to be part of a series of prints published by Martinet, Rue du Coq, of which this example is labelled as number 32. It is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

He wears white stockings trimmed with horizontal bands of pale green and red and dark blue knee breeches. The image shows him in profile, his right hand upraised, whilst in his right he carries a dark tricorne hat. |
