Jean de Paris was a comic opera in two acts, with a libretto by de Saint-Just and was composed in 1812 by Francois-Adrien Boieldieu (1775-1834). It was first performed at the Opéra-Comique, Paris, on 4th April 1812.

The design is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Physical description
This full length coloured lithograph shows an actor dressed in a seventeenth century style striped doublet and white ruff. His breeches are pale blue and decorated with a gold motif at the side seam. His cloak (also blue, decorated with gold) is worn over his left shoulder and outstretched arm. In his right hand he carries a black hat, decorated with two large white feathers.
