This is an example of woven woollen furnishing showing a very typical Aesthetic pattern of sunflowers and willow leaves, probably designed in the studio of B. J. Talbert, one of the leading furniture and textile designers of the day. The high quality of the textile and type of technique suggests it was woven by the Halifax makers Ward who produced a range of Aesthetic textiles from many leading designers. The design and technique is very similar to examples acquired from J. W. and C. Ward in 1953 and attributed at that time to Talbert.
