Les Huguenots is a French opera by Giacomo Meyerbeer, one of the most popular and spectacular examples of the style of grand opera. The opera is in five acts and premiered in Paris in 1836. The libretto was written by Eugène Scribe and Émile Deschamps.

This print shows the costume worn by the singer Dérivis (1808-1880) who sang the role of Comte de Nevers, (a Catholic nobleman) in the original production.

The print is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

A full length coloured lithograph of an actor dressed in white doublet and hose trimmed with gold braid and wearing a scarlet cloak, also trimmed with gold braid. He has purple tights and a black hat trimmed with a white feather. He is standing with his right hand on his hip, whilst his left arm hangs by his side.
