Place of origin |
This Lotus racing car was very much a toy of the 1960s. It is battery powered and this was a time when battery operated toys were becoming very popular. This toy is unusual however in that traditionally the Lotus was painted in British racing green, this toy car is actually red with white racing stripes on the bonnet and 1960s style flower stickers. It was made in Hong Kong where many plastic toys were being mass produced.

Production | The Gavrieiedes car that was found on the internet is very similar in style except for the wing pieces of plastic on the bonnet and the spoiler at the back. It is a Greek company, although there is no reason why they couldn't have manufactured elsewhere including Hong Kong. http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/5204998 |
