A coloured lithograph of the actor Etienne Arnal (1794–1872) in Le Prince Hercule.
The text at the top of the print indicates that it is No.192 of a series.
Etienne Arnal served in the army and worked in a button factory before beginning his acting career. His first appearance in 1815 was in a tragedy, and for some time he was unsuccessful; it was not until 1827 that he began to take on comic roles in which he achieved far greater success. He spent nearly half a century on the stage and died in 1872.
The print is part of the Harry Beard Collection.
