A coloured lithograph of the actor Fosse in the role of Cortarini in the drama Gaspardo. This is from the third act.

The text at the top of the print indicates that it is No.63 of a series. It appears to have been connected with a production at the Ambigu Theatre.

Bouchardy's Gaspardo the Fisherman (with a preface by Gautier) was first mounted at the Théâtre de l'Ambigu-Comique on 14th January 1837, and became a huge success.

The print is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Physical description
A full length coloured lithograph of an actor dressed in a tight sleeved, thigh length, black tunic trimmed with thin circular bands of yellow on the skirt. A long sword is attached to his left hip and he wears an armoured silver breastplate with a purple decoration at his waist. He is standing with his feet apart and pointing with his right hand toward the ground.
