Place of origin

A coloured lithograph of the actress Mlle. Brohan in the role of Janneton in Pierre le Rouge.

The text at the top of the print indicates that it is No.36 of a series. It appears to have been connected with a production at the Vaudeville Theatre.

It is difficult to determine which of the Brohan sisters is depicted in this print. Both Madeline Brohan (1833-1900) and her sister Joséphine Brohan (1824-1893) were extremely successful and popular actresses in the 19th century and both were members of the Comédie Française.
