A coloured lithograph of the soprano Mme. Cinti Damoreau (1801-1863) in the role of Inés in the operetta Le Mauvais Oeil.
Born Laura Cinti Damoreau, she made her debut at the Paris Opera in 1826 where she continued to perform for ten years. She also taught at the Conservatoire de Paris from 1833 until 1856.
The text at the top of the print indicates that it is No.19 of a series. It appears to have been connected with a production at the l'Opéra Comique.
The print is part of the Harry Beard Collection.

Physical description | A full length coloured lithograph of an actress in a shin length, full skirted, pink dress with a black bodice and white lace trim at the neckline and sleeve edges. She appears to be wearing a close fitting headdress which is trimmed with bright yellow flowers with scarlet centres. The same flowers have been used to decorate the skirt of the dress. Her right hand is close to her face, to which she appears to be pointing, whilst her left is by her side and grasping the end of a long length of ribbon fastening round her neck. |
