According to Portmeirion's press release 'all the items in the range are mult-functional, able to morph and adapt to anything from tapas to sushi, pasta to Thai'. According to David Queensberry, the range was designed in response to changing practices, including the popularity of world cuisine and ready prepared food, and was intended to be equally suitable for formal dining at table and eating from a tray on one's lap.
