One of a collection of 26 theatrical lithographs. This shows two unnamed actors from the Comédie-Française in the characters of Michau and Henri in the 'parti de la Chasse' of Henri IV. It appears to be night time scene as one character is shining a lantern on the face of the other, and the caption below demands "Qu-étes-vous? Allons, qu'étes-vous?".

The lithographer is not named but all the lithographs appear to have been published by Robert Sayer, London (1772).

One of a bound collection of lithographs of French Dramatic Characters, published by Robert Sayer, London, 1772. This shows two unnamed actors from the Comédie-Française in the characters of Michau and Henri in the 'parti de la Chasse' of Henri IV. Harry Beard Collection.
Physical description
Printed in the centre of the page this lithograph shows two men dressed in plain, late eighteenth century style jackets and knee breeches. The right hand man is shining a latern on the face of the left and is preventing his progress with a restraining hand to the man's right shoulder.
