One of a collection of 26 theatrical lithographs. This shows the actress Madlle. Clairon (1723-1803) in the role of Electre, possibly in a play of the same name. La Clairon, as she was also known, was a French actress, began her career as part of the Comédie Italienne, later moving to the Comédie Français, where she was rivals with fellow tragic actress Marie Françoise Dumesnil (1713-1803).
The lithographer is not named but all the lithographs appear to have been published by Robert Sayer, London (1772).
