Warp: white wool; Z2S; 11 threads to the inch (44 per dm).

Weft: wool, NB: the lower third is red, the rest is predominantly light brown with dark brown, dark blue and yellow; Z2S; 7 knots to the inch (28 per dm); 2 shoots after each row of knots.

Pile: wool; 11 colours: red, light red, yellow, dark green, green, dark blue, blue, purple, light brown, dark brown/black, white; symmetrically knotted around 2 warp threads; 38 knots to the sq. inch. (616 per sq. dm).

Side finish: both sides have one cord oversewn with red wool.

End finish: lower: 2.5 cm. plain weave with red weft; 3 rows of decorative stitching: inner and outer in light blue/dark brown over 2 threads and the middle in light blueyellow; one cord at the lower edge. Upper: 2.5 cm. plain weave with yellow weft; 3 rows of decorative stitching: inner and outer in red/green over 2 threads and the middle in red/dark blue. The warp threads are plaited along the edge, with warp threads max 10.5 cm. in 4s, heavily twisted and knotted to form a fringe.

Design: field: dark blue ground with 25 bands of stylised floral sprigs alternating two or three to a band, the components of each band being of the same colour. Some infilling with florets and S motifs.

Main border: white ground with multi-coloured floral meander.

Inner and outer border: red ground with flowing floral meander with purple and red flowerheads on black meandering stem.
