Section of the sheet music for O! Take this Ring (The Favourite Duet from La Sonnambula). The front of the sheet features a single black and white etching of the actress Jenny Lind as Amina. She is shown kneeling in the midst of a country landscape. A floral garland lies on the ground before her and her hands, in which she holds a further garland of flower, are clasped beneath her chin. A view of hills, trees, and a church tower are visible in the distance behind her.

The song sheet was printed by the Musical Bouquet Office and published by W.Strange Junr., London.

La Sonnambula (The Sleepwalker) is an opera in two acts with music by Vincenzo Bellini to an Italian libretto by Felice Romani. It was based on a ballet-pantomime by Eugène Scribe. The first performance took place at the Teatro Carcano, Milan on March 6, 1831.

The Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind (1820-1887) first toured Britain in 1844 but came to London in 1847, making her debut at Her Majesty's Theatre. Here she sung in Italian) Alice in Robert le diable before Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This role was followed by La sonnambula and La fille du régiment and Lind's popularity was such that her portrait was reproduced on snuff boxes, matchboxes and pocket handkerchiefs along with Jenny Lind soap, scent and candle snuffers.
