Bound Sheet music for Chloe, written by John P. Harrington and composed by George L. Brun. It was published by Francis, Day & Hunter. A company which also appeared to trade in New York under the name T.B.Harms & Co, 18, East 22nd Street. A long list of the comic songs that they published is printed on the final sheet of the music. This list also records the singer associated with each song.
The song Chloe has been sung by Miss Nellie Christie and also by Miss Hetty Chapman.
The front sheet is illustrated with coloured image of a riverside scene. In the foreground is an English woman, made up in the guise of a Black sailor. She is dressed in a loose 'boatneck' white blouse with a blue neckchief and wears loose grey trousers which finish just below the knee. Black stockings and buckled black shoes complete her costume.
