The important and influential exhibition of prints and drawings by the artist and illustrator Aubrey Beardsley (1872-98) held at the V&A in 1966 triggered a widespread revival of interest in Beardsley's work, and in the Art Nouveau style more generally . His images were used on a variety of contemporary articles such as posters and stationery, but also furnishings such as fabrics and wallpapers. Here a collage of book covers and other illustrations has been translated into a wallpaper pattern, issued by Arthur Sanderson & Sons in 1967.
