Physical description | A landscape engraving showing a backstage scene in which a group of performers are either dressed, or being dressed in an extravagant array of costumes. The central figure is a woman in a loose classical tunic, gathered at her right hip, who is standing with her arms and hair upraised whilst a stagehand helps her in to a pair of feathered angel wings. Similar pairs of wings are strewn across the floor. |
