The opera Ein Feldlager in Schlesien was composed by Meyerbeer for the re-opening if the Berlin Operahaus on 7th December 1844 after the fire of the previous year. Jenny Lind took over the role shortly afterwards and sang it again when the opera was revived in Vienna in 1847 under the title
