Wait Chair

Chair
1996 (designed), 1998 (manufactured)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This was the first real moulding from the stainless steel injection moulding machine for the Wait Chair. Machines and tools for injection moulding are extremely expensive and there is little room for adjustment once the mould has been made. The prototype is made from polypropylene coloured with white talc, and was made to test the strength of the chair. It is marked with minor changes to be made, and Matthew Hilton, its designer, has written on it with the date it was made: 4th December 1988.
