This photograph of Denman Thompson shows him dressed in the costume he wore in the role of Joshua Whitcomb. Thompson stands with hands in pocket. His high waisted trousers are teamed with a checked jacket. The jacket is open to reveal a patterned waistcoat which is worn over a high collared shirt and with a neckerchief. A hat and glasses complete the costume. This role is from a sketch about a New Hampshire 'hayseed' who travels to the big city, which Thompson subsequently developed in to a four act play entitled 'The Old Homestead'. Harry Beard Collection.
