This three quarter length photograph of Brandon Thomas shows him dressed in the costume he wore in the role of John of Gaunt. A velvet cap adorned with metal and stone brooch in the centre is matched with a plain hood in the same fabric. This is worn over a front fastening silk doublet patterned with squares of applique decoration. He also wears what appears to be a large metal chain of office. Harry Beard Collection.
