Place of origin |
Little girl's dress of unlined pale blue lawn with a patterned vertical line in the weave and printed with a sprigged pattern of stylized red roses with black and grey foliage. The dress has a rounded neck with a Peter Pan collar of pale blue muslin edged with machine made lace, and puffed sleeves of self fabric. The gathered skirt has a concealed pocket at the true right side, and is attached to the added self fabric waistband (which has been cut from the fabric with the pattern running horizontally). At the front of the waistband is a lace-edged half oval of pale blue muslin to match the collar, trimmed with a bow of narrow black velveteen ribbon and an artificial red rose and green leaf. The garment fastens at the back with four white plastic buttons and stitched buttonholes, and two metal hooks and bars.
