Place of origin |
Mrs Young Sook Park produces luminous, fine-grained white porcelain in her studio near Seoul. This cube-shaped box and lid is slab-built of fine white porcelain, thinly glazed, and painted on each outer wall and lid. The entire box including interior walls and lid, is glazed. Only the base is unglazed.
In 2009, the artist made copper-red decorated ceramics of various forms and sizes, reflecting her constant attempt to stretch and develop her production. A signature, Park '09, has been applied to the inside of the lid. Delicate and precise, this small, straight-walled container is part of a line of table ware products made and shown by the artist in her Seoul studio, and enjoyed by collectors because of their relaxed decorative style combined with the purity and refined quality of the ceramic body.
