Man’s breeches made of cream silk taffeta and lined with fustian and yellow worsted twill. There are 2 fronts, two backs and 2 waistbands; the back legs are cut higher than the fronts and gathered into the back of the waistbands. There is a watch pocket on the right side of the waistband and a pocket on each side, closed with a flap with button and buttonhole. The breeches close with 2 buttonholes and 2 cream silk thread death’s-head buttons at the centre-front waistband and a fall front with 2 buttonholes. There are 2 worked eyelets on each side of the waistband at centre back, filled in with a triangle of worsted. There are 4 worked buttonholes on each leg with corresponding silk thread death’s head buttons. The knee bands fasten with a buttonhole and button; both are later replacements.
