Man’s breeches made of dark beige figured silk, brocaded with silver-gilt filé, frisé and strip in a design of abstract leaves and fruit. There are 2 fronts, two backs and 2 waistbands; the back legs are cut higher than the fronts and gathered into the back of the waistbands. The waistbands are lined plain linen, the legs with pale blue linen. There is a pocket on each side, closed with a fabric-covered button and buttonhole. The breeches close with 4 silver-gilt passementerie buttons at the centre front and a worked eyelet on each side of the waistband at centre back, for lacing. There are 5 worked buttonholes on each leg with corresponding silver-gilt passementerie buttons; 9 remain.
