Adolescence IV

Print
2001 (printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Luce Clereen (born Belgium, 1953) is a painter and printmaker. From 1975 she lived and worked in Paris for several years, and worked in several prestigious print workshops including S W Hayter's Atelier 17. She is an accomplished printmaker who makes inventive and effective use of the qualities and potential of traditional print media. Her imagery has an elusive symbolic quality, with certain themes - notably adolescence - recurring over long periods. She has described her method of working as an intuitive response to unconscious ideas and feelings. The images hint at mysterious narratives which cannot be pinned down.
